Oxford Blue Story
In 1829, at the first Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, the University of Oxford was said to have borrowed (from Harrow School) the now distinctive Oxford Blue for outfitting its crew of four. The Boat Race is held annually between the University of Oxford and Cambridge University and is now one of the oldest sporting rivalries.
